The Famed GM Diet – Introduction and Day One



Yes...Am back with a bang after a longer break than what I had hoped it would be..!

As inevitable it was, with all the cooking I was doing and the constant eating out, we both were bound to gain those pre-marital pounds that we both had so happily lost. I could have gone for the traditional eat less/ avoid fried,fatty, junk foods. But then alas! I have just discovered the joy of baking and the end results are just mindblowing. Don't believe me given my earlier escapades? Then you are most welcome to interrogate my weighing scale !

So before I pack on some more, time for some damage control and a healthier lifestyle. I wanted quick motivation and fast results. That's when I came across the reputed GM diet. For those who havn't heard of it.Before you continue,please go through the details of the diet here.

So coming back to my post, after much research and detailed investigation into the experiences of other Indian bloggers, I mustered all the will I had and decided to go for it.

So here goes :

DAY 1- Fruits, fruits and more of them

-Started off with a green tea 1 ( skipped my habitual morning coffee)
-Breakfast- Small bowl of cut watermelon
-Mid day snack- Orange
Green Tea- 2
-Pre -lunch snack- Apple
-Lunch- Pear + Grapes
Green Tea -3
-Evening snack – Orange
Green Tea-4
-Late evening snack- Apple and a dash of cinnamon powder
-Dinner appetiser-Grapes
-Dinner- Watermelon chaat

Not to forget the 2 litres of water.

Seeing the list mentioned above, my better half was obviously quite doubtful if I still was on the DIET. My argument is :They did say UNLIMITED FRUITS and it's my first day !

Ahh...Hunger pangs keep striking every two hours and my better ( or I'd like to call him bitter) half wasn't helping at all with the big bowl of ice cream and noisy gleeful munching on chicken nuggets, cheese !!! For crying out aloud, “cheese” was long decided as an unwelcome member of the dairy family in our household and he had to embrace it into our home the very day prior to my diet. Irony ?? I don't think so !!

And I thought it was Eve who tempted Adam with the forbidden apple.

This instilled my long-lost will power and made me plain adamant that I wouldn't give in so early.

Notes:

Day One was quite difficult with the battling against all vices and temptations, excessive sweetness and ofcourse not to forget the never-ending visits to the loo.You do crave for some spice But at the end of it all, you do feel the beginning of the 
de-toxification process( or is it just in my head !?!) Whatever, I am feeling good to have survived this day and I am hell-bent on finishing this one week.

  3. day one was my best when i tried GM diet. i only ate watermelons and really saw a drop of 1.5 kg. or maybe i just thought i saw that drop. but i added lavish salad dressings on day 2 and it all evened out :D
