The Famed GM Diet – Day Seven....and My Learnings

The D day- Cricket World Cup Final and last day of my diet ! Such a joyous and enthralling day which ended with India lifting the long-awaited “Cup of Joy”.

DAY 7- Rice, vegetables, Fruits

Breakfast of fruits, Lunch of rice and veg curry, Snacks and Dinner- Fruits
& H20.

Notes:
Day 7 has to be the smoothest day of the diet. Refrain from all non-veg. But back to a normal vegetarian diet.

Day 8 morning dawns. Both feet on weighing scale. Yipppieee..... 3 kgs down.
And the best part is that clothes which didn't fit me 2 weeks back fit me perfectly now. Hurrahhhh !!

Learnings from the diet:

On a more serious note, I am most definitely going to do this again perhaps next month or after that. I find this diet to be most convenient when drastic measures need to be taken or when quick results are required. It is the perfect way to come back to track for those who have derailed from the path of a healthy and balanced diet.

What I liked most are the several lessons learnt during this course of time:
  • Will-power,
  • Resistance to temptations
  • Incline to continue a healthier lifestyle than before
  • How to say NO (especially to the last unwanted helping of rice or an unnecessary scoop of ice cream or the “so-called” indispensable evening oily snack /junk food ).

Advantages include:
  • Detoxification of one's body
  • Immense boost to your ego ( on successful completion of the diet ONLY and infact, I have inspired two other people around me to take up the same. I can't help but be all-smiles!)
  • Confidence that it equips you with inorder to take much larger steps in your life
  • Break in monotony ( does not apply to busy, working professionals !!) , and
  • Weight-loss -the most significant of all..

What I will do in my next attempt of GM diet is:

Eat chicken only on Day 5 or Day 6 and substitute the same with dal, chana, rajma etc.

Phew...Such an interesting and fulfilling week- both in terms of cricket and weight loss !

Have you kept the 3kgs at bay or did you lose more? let me know. I would like to know. I did the same diet some time ago. I gained it and some more back unfortunately.

  3. Anita- Yah, it did feel like an achievement at the end of it. I could keep the loss at bay for like 3-4 months. But then gained it back due to a little bit of not-so-careful eating and lifestyle. I feel it's a good motivation before you start off a diet/weight loss regime. I am considering implementing Rujuta's philosophy soon, after reading her book.
